New year, time to get your workout on!!!

We're a grand total of 12 days into this year and I'm sure that the initial happy glow of New Year's Resolutions is fading. It's all good... it's been cold. Like really, really cold. And I don't know about you, but the reason I go to school in Columbia, aka the hottest city in the US outside of a desert, is that I really don't like to be cold.

(Actual representation of me when it's 65 degrees out or less-- also a fantastic Christmas movie)

I figured I'd help give you all a little workout inspiration to keep you going. It always helps to add in some new to your workout to keep it exciting.

2017 Week One Workout Routine:
I worked out 5 days this week, which is my ideal for any given week. I needed it because, let me tell you, I found a new gluten free flour that is a game changer and my mom made me sOoOoO many amazing Christmas cookies that I just couldn't contain myself.

Daily I ran 5 miles a day, so 25 miles this week total! And I'm super proud of myself. It was all on the elliptical, which is much easier on my back. I couldn't have done it without the Netflix app beginning to allow you to download shows. I got to watch about 2 episodes of The Office while getting it done.

After, I spent about 10-15 minutes focused on one specific muscle group per day (legs, arms, or abs.)

Granted, this was when I was still on break, so I had a lot more time to focus on my workouts. Now that school's back I'm sure things will change a bit.

FAVORITE Workout Videos:
I was home for a whole month for Christmas this year (without a gym and with an intensive work schedule) so I relied heavily on these workout videos. These are my absolute favorite workout videos because they're easy to do from anywhere and they're definitely a challenge. *You'll probably want to bookmark this page because, trust me, these are great*
I just got a new Smart TV for Christmas, so I'm loving that I can pull all these videos up on YouTube on my TV and have a larger screen to work from.

This woman trains Victoria's Secret models!!! So you know she's good. This one's a quick 10 minute workout, but it really gets the job done.

This trainer is hilarious, but he'll definitely work you! This is another great 10 minute workout from PopSugar, my favorite resource for so many things.

Ballet Beautiful
This girl is a real life ballerina, but don't let that intimidate you! She also trained Natalie Portman for Black Swan. Ballet Beautiful has some very methodical workouts, but they always make me feel pretty and I really appreciate how deeply it works very specific muscle groups. I've done every single one of her videos and I highly recommend. This one is more full body, but seriously every single one of her videos is great.

Full 40 Minute Barre Workout
The production value of this video is not quite as great, but the workout is top notch! This video will give you a full workout as if you went to an actual barre class. Your legs will SHAKE, but that's how you know it's working.

For some fun cardio I like to do Zumba! I took a great Zumba class at USC last semester and it was waaaaay too much fun. We started incorporating some of this guy's dances because they're a blast.

I hope these videos are helpful! I'd love to hear how they work for you.
