Make Someone Else's Day

2:18:00 PM

This morning I walked into my class bright and early at 8:30 am to find this written on the board.

Apparently, someone FOUND a lone raw pasta noodle in our classroom and then determined that it should be returned to its rightful owner. I have so many questions. Why was there pasta in the classroom to begin with? Was there a full box where this came from? How does just one noodle get left behind?

This brightened my day right up (because it was hilarious) and it got me to thinking about how easy it is to make someone's day. Something as simple as a conversation or a compliment can make the difference between someone having a "good day" or a "bad day." I don't think that there should be any bad days, especially when it's so easy find the bright spot in any day.

I'd like to encourage everyone to take the time to do something nice for someone else today. A random act of kindness, if you will. Send someone a text to remind them you care or just to check in, do the dishes for your family or roommates. It doesn't have to be any major grand gesture, just enough to give someone a little blip of happy.

I can promise you it'll make you feel pretty great too. Thank you, single pasta noodle returner for making my day just a little bit brighter. And happy second day of spring!
